When Every Inch Counts

Oh clean, clutter-free countertops, how we love you. After years of a love/hate relationship with our paper towel holder and all of it’s countertop-hogging-glory, all it took was pulling the trigger on a new mount to go from this (on the left) to this (on the right):

And while there was not a thing wrong with our old holder, it’s nice to have the prep space when every inch counts. How nice it is to have one less thing to scoop up when wiping down. Our new set up shipped to us with all the glitz to mount directly into the wall, but being the perfectionists we are, all it took were these screws and 5 minutes to have us up and running under the cabinet.

It’s the little things, really.

This is something I’ve been wanting to do. We have an “every inch counts” kind of a place too.ReplyCancel

I fully agree with you! We do not have a ton of counter space so it’s nice to free it up with gadgetts like this!ReplyCancel

  • I love having our paper towels up and off the counter. There is something about a clear counter that is so refreshing.

Thanks so much for visiting Domestic Adventure and commenting today!ReplyCancel

Ah yes, the paper towel conundrum. We have one of those holders that sits on the countertop. Would be nice to have the extra countertop space for sure!ReplyCancel

I might have to try this… Where did you get the under the counter one from? I can’t tell from the picture, but is it one of those plastic old school ones?ReplyCancel

Hi Red, the exact model is from Stacksandstacks.com. It functions just like the old ugly plastic ones, but is made of sleek stainless steel. Here’s the link:

Hope this helps. Good luck! ReplyCancel

Why not forgo using wasteful paper towels and invest in some colorful and aesthetically pleasing cloth towels that you can hang in view?ReplyCancel

  • Kim4.12.10 - 2:32 PM

Hi Alix, you’re absolutely right! We actually do have two colorful hand towels that we hang over our lower cabinets (not visible in these shots) for drying off hands and dishes, and a wet rag we keep folded over the sink for wiping down the countertops.

Unfortunately with all the pets living in our home, paper towels are a necessity for upset tummies and spills. We love that you’re being mindful, and we couldn’t agree with you more!ReplyCancel
