What We Love About Sundays

Sundays are the one day a week when you should have zero guilt for a) relaxing, b) doing only what you want, and c) relaxing a little more. And since summertime seems to have finally hit it’s stride here in Chicago (with temperatures that will be soaring into the  80s and above all week), we decided to welcome the warm weather with breakfast on the patio, in our pajamas, while checking off a and c.

It was the perfect morning to whip up some banana bread with cinnamon, topped with gooey, warm Nutella, and tall glasses of iced coffee with simple syrup and cream. Mmm. A breakfast of champions? We think so. We continued the day with a whole lot of b, and did so guilt-free.

But what about you? Any Sunday ritual (or lack of ritual) you look forward to? We know it’s Monday, but there’s not a thing wrong with looking ahead already. Especially with a 3-day weekend on the horizon.

That sounds like a perfect Sunday. My hubby and I like to start our Sundays with breakfast and coffee, catch up on favorite books, play chess and I usually grab him to help me on whatever home project I’m working on. Favorite Sunday afternoon place…Lowe’s Garden center :)ReplyCancel

How did your banana bread come out so pretty!? I attempted to make some last week as a surprise for the sweet boyfriend (who’s been dropping hints at wanting some for weeks now and I finally got around to doing so), and it came out looking like something I could retile a fireplace with.

To answer your original question, I look forward to waking up next to my man in bed. Him working 3rd shift, and I’m up with the kids before he gets to bed, it’s a little luxury that I look forward to. The older son comes into bed with us and we just laugh and enjoy the morning before getting up and starting the day.ReplyCancel

Tina, I’m sure your boyfriend still loved the bread regardless!

All your Sundays sound like our idea of a good time, too.ReplyCancel
