Vlog: Let’s Go to Pittsburgh!

You can also view the video directly on YouTube.

In this vlog, we pack up the car for an 8-hour drive and head to Pittsburgh to see my family for the holidays! We’re taking you along as we go on a thrifting adventure, we make a LOT of cookies (a family tradition, naturally), and we top it off with outdoor ice skating – my favorite thing in the world. Thank you for joining us!

Where We Went:

Other Stuff:

This is my coat (the best!) and hat, and this is Scott’s!

Music is “Sour Sweets” by Joey Pecoraro.

Our vlog was filmed with this lightweight camera and this stabilizer.

PS: If you enjoy our vlogs, it’d sure make our day if you subscribed to our YouTube channel! Videos are released on YouTube before they’re published on the blog. xx

I love how I’m sitting here in Pittsburgh thinking ” you went to Delmont, then squirrel hill, then East Liberty, then Highland Park, then Mount Washington in ONE DAY?!” thats more neighborhoods then yinzers go in a month HA!ReplyCancel

HAHA, to be fair, we did all of this in TWO days! (We even went to Lawrenceville, but I didn’t film it!) We try to squeeze it all in, and it helped that the grandparents wanted to hang with Lucy all day while we ran around. :DReplyCancel

Did you happen to visit Caffe d’Amore in Lawrenceville? One of my old college roommates owns it and it is GREAT!ReplyCancel

There’s a ton of great food in Pittsburgh! I always recommend, the ace hotel (whitfield), two sisters (vietnamese), legume and butterjoint (americana), but there are really a lot of good options, high end and low end of the price range too.ReplyCancel

Always love your videos! Pittsburgh is such a cute town. The cookies at Madeleine bakery might rival yours – check it out next time! ReplyCancel

How did Lucy handle the car ride? Tricks??
She seems like such a thoughtful and stoic little one <3ReplyCancel

Lucy is an absolute champ in the car! We do everything in our power to plan our travel around her nap schedule so she sleeps the majority of the time in motion. We also stop and take breaks for meals and snacks and make sure we run around a bit and stretch our legs. We keep her little backpack stocked up with books and toys and she giggles and talks to herself and stays busy. She’s got a lot of practice driving back and forth to Michigan, so car travel doesn’t really phase her!ReplyCancel

I’m a rural PA girl, so driving in Pittsburgh usually stresses me out.  I saw how many places you went to in a couple of days, and I’m like, you guys are champs.  Ha,ha.  I chuckled so hard about the wreath because it’s so true… the black and gold decor around here is the real deal ;)ReplyCancel

We always say that Pittsburgh is a spaghetti bowl! We’re terrified of making the wrong turn, because it could be an hour to find our way back. ????ReplyCancel

I loved this vlog and when you bring us on your adventures. The music was sweet, the footage of Lucy was so sweet I just can’t get enough of all the cuteness and mini hands and mini feet and mini everything. The footage all looked so pretty and romantic. Lucy is going to love having this stuff to look back at. Lucky girl!ReplyCancel

Just watching this now but being from the Pittsburgh area myself (an hour north in Amish country) it was fun to watch. Not to mention the cookie press cookies and pizelles, always staples from my childhood Christmases! ????ReplyCancel
