Totally Teal

After a long weekend celebrating birthdays, Mexican pride and Creative Cause (my Derby horse pick), we did break a little DIY ground on Sunday evening, picking up a few items from Home Depot for our console table.

While Scott was completely sold on the blue (just like many, many of you), I was feeling hopelessly torn – even leaning yellow most days. But after a mini trip to a vintage store in our neighborhood had us bringing home a cheery yellow pitcher – and after explaining to Scott it could hold flowers on our console, obviously – I finally came to the same conclusion as most of you. Our table should be blue. One yellow pitcher + one blue table = the perfect balance.

Yes, really, the new pitcher swayed my vote.

Just to be one hundred percent on the decision, I read through your comments one more time (bringing the total to at least twenty). We think Jane hit the nail on the head with her comment, I think the blue strikes a nice balance between colorful and fun, but not too busy or different.

Being that we were finally on the same page, we hauled ourselves to the Depot, pulled swatches and squinted our eyes over ten shades of blue. The winner? Totally Teal by Glidden (the last one on the right in the first Instagram snap – and yes, we cringe at the name, too). It’s a little green, a little blue (um, you know, like teal typically is), but it’s got enough grey in there to keep the color neutral enough for our home.

I know what I’m doing this weekend. (Perhaps writing that down will make me move faster. Maybe.)

      Thanks, ladies!

To my mom in law – that made us laugh so hard. Yes, the small spaces do make some tasks less of a chore!ReplyCancel
