The Weekender: Summer DIYs to Try + All the Big Sales!

Happy holiday weekend to our US readers! Do you have any fun plans? We’re headed to the Two Flat to scavenge all the vintage doorknobs before demolition begins(!), as well as a few cute towel bars and hooks that we noticed during our last visit. We’ll also be eating a lot of ice cream, grilling meats and veggies, roasting marshmallows on the patio, getting caught up on The Handmaid’s Tale (ha!), and if we’re lucky, we’ll spend some a few hours at the beach with Goose!

New Playlists: Beach + Bonfire

And just in time for the heat of summer, two new playlists hit our Spotify station: Beach + Bonfire! We imagine these stations to be the background music to your holiday gatherings, evenings around the campfire and afternoons with the lake and sand. Our Beach playlist is light-hearted and upbeat with a splash of reggae, and our Bonfire playlist will have you singing along as you toast marshmallows and whisper your deepest secrets long into the night. Chicagoans take full advantage of the summer months, because in a way, we feel as though we’ve earned them! One of the ways we submerge ourselves into the summer months is by piling on the DIY projects that get us outdoors. We strategically plan the timing of projects based on the weather, in the same way that the weather can derail us from a hopeful weekend of outdoor DIY.
