Like last year (and the three years prior), we’ll be spending today with our very loved Chicago family of sorts – because while we may not share the same moms or pops, they’re some of our closest pals and that’s certainly family to us.
With that said, we’ve been thinking a lot this week about what we’re thankful for. I don’t plan to get all mush-mush on you, but it’s been a very hectic holiday season thus far, which actually comes full circle since this is mostly due to your support of our little shop. We thank you from the very bottom of our hearts for sharing your fuzzy friends with us, and as a result, emotions run high around here. And when that happens, well, I get lost in my head and feel so very lucky to have not only the support of all of you, but also the encouragement of our family and friends. That is, some very amazing family and friends.
When I asked Scott what he was thankful for, he said, I’m thankful for everything in these four walls – you, the four-legged kids, and all the love we put into this home and all it gives back to us.
Remember, I’m the one who promised I wouldn’t get too mush-mush. Scott, on the other hand, well, he throws that one at me. And then he wrote this on our chalkboard back splash:
I’d like to add a few little things, too: the simple joy that is Pinterest, our cat’s noses, holiday music, tree trimming, tiny art, grilled cheese, and slippers when it’s cold. And, uh, the (not so) little mention on Young House Love this week. We thank you (and S & J, of course!) for chiming in on YHL, sharing links, and giving shout outs that turned our cheeks beet red. Every kind word was read and appreciated, and we think you guys are the tops.
What are you up to this feast-y day?
PS: We hope you’ll stop by tomorrow for a mini giveaway – ooh, yes.
