Sale, Successful.

Is it possible that we’re still recovering from Saturday’s yard sale – and it’s already mid-morning on Monday? The sale was a success, and we’re happy to report that we made just enough to cover the expense for new living room shades; hooray! Or a new upholstery job on the lovely chair. Or a few good date nights on the town. We’ll see, but right now, we’re still reveling in that happy we-just-purged-and-it-feels-great euphoria.

It was ridiculously hot – we’re pretty sure we reached the steamy 100-degree mark; you can see our Jackie Boy panting under our table – and as a result, I acted as a slug and barely snapped ten photos! Regardless, here’s a few peeks into our day:

We were even so lucky to hang with our celebrity pooch pals, Miss M and Mr B! Our group photo attempt (them + Jack) turned into a series of blurry whipping tails and tumbles, so we’ll have to try on another day.

Anything we didn’t sell was loaded right into the trunk of our wagon, and it was donated yesterday – with the only exception being our unsold modem/router and pink-framed bunny art (is anyone in the market for either? Email us!). And considering we started with a handful of furniture and a table full of goodies, we were able to fit all our no-gos into two small boxes. Our hands? Wiped clean.

We stayed out through 4, and just as the last tables were folded and the last loads packed, an electrical storm blew through the city. Scott and I celebrated with beers on the back patio, watching the rain fall – until we started getting soaked ourselves, then headed in to recoup before dinner with friends.

Of course I couldn’t resist a little peek into our sale partners’ goods, and I managed to emerge with one frame (to fill with existing art as part of our “new” living room) and a cute purse (because you can never have too many, right?) for all of $5. Not a bad deal.

It was so wonderful to meet some of our readers, and we thank you for stopping by to say hello! Did anyone else hop around neighborhood sales this weekend? If so, what’d you find?

I don’t see Otto there! Does that mean you didn’t sell him? I sure hope not.ReplyCancel

Hey Amanda, good catch! Otto was out for the taking, but no one scooped her up. Right as we were leaving, the owner of a hostel in the neighborhood stopped by for any last minute deals to furnish her business. We donated Otto for the hostel!ReplyCancel

Looks like you had a great turnout despite the heat. I know its completely weird but Im so jealous of people who can do yard sales. (We can do stoop sales but its not the same thing)ReplyCancel

Thanks for including us! I really liked seeing our stuff go to ‘good homes’ and how excited people were about things we had packed away and never used. Our pooches had a good time too. Notice how Miss M doesn’t even have her grumpy face…I think it’s from all of those smooches Jack gave her.ReplyCancel

Haha, you crack me up!! We actually do have bigger plans – it’s going to be on a bigger, better display! Trust us! We freaking love that cross stitch.ReplyCancel

Oh, also, that frame is glassless (it broke once when it took a tumble), so the new frame will do it much better justice.ReplyCancel
