Prints, Lately

It should come as no surprise that Scott and I kind of has this, um, addiction, for small art. Makes sense, I suppose – tiny home, tiny art. You’ve seen our mini (and forever growing) cluster by the door, and perhaps you’ve noticed our affinity for trinkets and the sort – seen here, here, and even here. Welp, we’ve grown some more. Since last week, our home grew a whole 2 prints worth. (That’s surely a technical term.)

I’ve seen Amanda’s graphic work pop up around the blogosphere, but what really caught my eye was her hand-cut paper work. Of course we were thrilled to add this our newly spruced up kitchen – the best part being our personal input on colors, backgrounds, and (of course) the whole custom K+S ooey gooey love stuff.

But to top off our print quota for the week, we also added a super (duper) sentimental photograph to our living room shelves. Years ago I snapped this shot in my grandma’s home – the home that was recently handed over to new owners as she moved into her own smaller pad (following the passing of the coolest person in the world, my pap.)

Just check out that wallpaper, right? She’s pretty hip and doesn’t even know it. It only made sense to layer the print with a portrait of the two of them together, also in their home. And yes, that infamous camera is holding it all down.

That’s it for now, but 2 in a week ain’t shabby. The funny thing is that we still have prints rolled up in tubes and old photos stuffed in cabinets for future use. Anyone else in that same boat? Or maybe you’re eyeing something you’ve seen recently and don’t know where it’ll go? There’s always room on those walls somewhere; you better believe it.

Check out more of Amanda’s work at her Etsy shop, Our Humble A{Bowe}d, or catch up on her blog, right here. That girl is bursting with ideas, I tell ya.

Oh man, the wallpaper in Aunt El’s house was always my favorite. So great to see it immortalized there in that print.ReplyCancel

I <3 the K+S tree piece! It's like a combination of two items on Etsy that I've been eying:

    and

Plus I have about a dozen or more little prints and trinkets bookmarked on Etsy. My poor minimalist husband doesn't know what to do :)ReplyCancel

Precious! My grandparents had twin beds, too. I guess it was a generational thing. That shot is classic.

And I see you have the Anthropologie “Mr. Mugs.” My husband and I just came home with the “Mrs.” ones. I made sure TWICE that he was OK with having a “Mrs.” mug before I paid for them, lol.ReplyCancel

These are great! I love that picture of your grandparent’s bedroom. The colors are perfect.

I hoard not only prints, but frames. Whenever I go to the thrift store, I check out the frames and bring good ones home and match them to a print!ReplyCancel

  • Your cut out looks perfect in your kitchen, especially next to your monogram mugs. Your photo is great, too. Such a cool way to remember your grandparents.ReplyCancel

Guilty! Our guilty pleasure is posters. We are always finding posters we love but just can’t decide where they should go. So against the walls they sit until we can make a decision.ReplyCancel

I love the new additions! I have to admit I am an art hoarder and have rolls and stacks and piles all around my house! I love the encouragement that there is always room for art on your walls…somewhere! self challenge: put up some of my art this week! I will find room :)ReplyCancel

The art pieces you just posted bring the simple, in simplicity. Is that right? or maybe I got that phrase wrong. Haha! But what I’m really trying to point out here is that those art pieces look incredibly simple but gives a very unique impact to the mind. It feels like as if there is so much love in the art and it makes me feel that way. Thanks! =)ReplyCancel
