Polished and Pretty

We knew the light we found during the Renegade sidewalk sale needed a heavy spit shine in a bad way. (Not that the sale and the show went hand in hand, rather, it was a happy coincidence.) It was dusty (easy enough), dingy, and (boo) rusty.

For 5 dollars, I really didn’t care. The pretty, domed head made me happy (whoa, anyone?), and even the scuffs and scratches were forgivable. Not surprisingly, Scott had just the thing (always!) to spiff her up in his bag of tricks – er, you know, his manly, beefy tool bag.

As soon as we replace the cord (parts are on the way!) and put it in place, we’ll of course tell you how we (read: Scott) did it. And nothing’s better than a puppy bobble head in the morning.

So thrilled to have found your blog! I’ve just moved a new house in Wales, UK so have a whole house to do over, and I *need* inspiration. I am very lucky that only twenty minutes away is a vertiable treasure trove of charity shops and seconds stores, full of fantastic things but I’m finding it hard to make decisions, as my new house is very old but I don’t want an old interior.

Yesterday my kids spent an hour trying on lamp shades whilst I worked my way through 75 framed prints, got the wobbles and bought nothing (but did come away with an awesome photo of all four littles wearing lampshades as hats and skirts :)

Thanks for an amazing blog – I am off to read the archives.ReplyCancel

Hi Kelly, so happy you’ve found us! Having a whole house to do over sounds like a lot of fun to folks like us – we always day dream about our “future” home, meaning one that is a little larger and includes a garage for all of our projects!

We’d love for you to keep us in the loop if you finish any amazing projects or find some great thrifty buys!ReplyCancel
