Our Collection Grows

As it turned out, our little Renegade find was a big hit with all of you too. And while I found out from reading through your comments on Monday that some of you had purchased the likes of a wolf and otter bust, I’d like to throw in our two cents and say we’re all in the same amusing-bust-club, courtesy of Ryan Berkley of Berkley Illustrations. Honorary members, unite.

Luckily, Ryan had whipped up enough amusing designs that none of us ended up with the same thing – not even my best girlfriend, who texted me Sunday to say she caved in to the sloth. Rather, we went the antelope route, thinking he’d be a nice little addition to our collection of small art:

You may remember our special-to-us grouping of fun prints, paintings, and handmade goodies from our house tour (or more recently, our Mike Gordon bear mystery from earlier this week). Here’s what it looked like before our sophisticated little man joined the masses:

And here it is now, antelope in tow. We spray painted a lime green frame already on hand a fun copper I found stashed in my closet (and ironically enough, it was a free can given to us at last year’s Renegade fest), giving it that oh-so-regal feel that our newest addition deserves.

Perhaps our favorite part was the biography we found tucked in with our new print. It may be safe to say he’s the coolest kid in our home, since we’re more of a Pabst family (and our furry kids tend to lean towards water). Of course we slipped it in the back of the frame for now – which I’m sure will be a fun find if we ever swap the art with something else down the road.

And for just ten bucks a pop, these frame-ready sized 5x7s were practically a steal. We’re happy to hear that Berkley’s booth was such a hit, as we’re sure these pint sized prints will be a conversation starter in your home as well as ours.

    Thank you, ladies!

Danielle, one day when we live in a bigger home, we hope to have so much more. We have to hold back from purchasing some finds due to lack of space and not wanting to seem to cluttered. We find that our “small” art collection allows to collect more while still keeping an interesting cluster of unique pieces. Thank you for the kind words!ReplyCancel

He is quite dapper, I must say. :)

And can I say also that when I first saw your home tour on AT, the little penguin art is what really got me. We are a penguin household as well, and I just adored that one you have!ReplyCancel
