Aah, ’tis the season. We’re back to our roots for a few days in the Queen City, and although there’s not a flake of snow on the ground here in Cincinnati, there is hot buttered rum in my mug and shortbread on my dessert plate (among other things). I can’t help but feel super lucky to spend this time of year surrounded by family, around the tree. Relaxin’ and maxin’ is the name of the game, and I feel plenty of that coming on in the next few days.
And here to spread the Christmas cheer is this bright behemoth, lighting up an entire boulevard in our ‘hood. Put on your blinders, kids. Wowza. Because the residential majority of the Windy City is comprised of walk ups, apartments, and condominiums, it’s rare to see those twinkling lights (I mean, would you volunteer to put up the lights on a mini ‘scraper?). But this guy or gal knocked it right outta the ballpark, yes?
As we spend time at our home-back-home for the holidays, we would like to thank each and every one of you for making this a first great year at YBH. In the just-over-6-months that we’ve landed in the blogosphere, we’ve gotten some great feedback, tips, and more than enough motivation to keep on keepin’ on. Your enthusiasm is what truly floats our boat.
We hope you all have a very merry Christmas and happy holiday! May your mugs be full and your friends and family close. And please, for just this one day, put off that project ’til tomorrow.

My best friend lives in the pink house to the right! It’s so hard to sleep with all those lights on at night. hehehe :)
…and two weeks ago when we were there for Renegade my car was parked in front of the house and it got broken into. Who would brake into a car parked in front of that house? REALLY?
