Maybe Crazy

Oh, hey, so the crazy lady in me went and ordered two new fabric choices for the now-infamous ottoman. You know, just to see. How unvery thrifty of me. However! Each yard of fabric was on sale for $4 (first pinned here, and bought from Fabric.com. It’s since gone up in price). But then add shipping and an extra 1/2 yard to each, and before you know it, my extreme penny pinching ways go out the window. Ah, well.

We love them. No hesitation this time. Those pink poppies will be put to use somewhere, but just not for el otto. And on a side note, I tried washing and bleaching the fabric, as some of you suggested. Wouldn’t you know, that pink held true. Looks as new as the day we got it.

So now we have two choices: yellow or lilac? Scott is constantly surprising me by 1) adoring the poppies in the first place and 2) choosing lilac. And – surprise, surprise – I wouldn’t be me unless I threw a few curve balls in the mix by 1) being generally crazy, 2) easing into the poppies, then 3) changing my mind, and finally, 4) gravitating towards the yellow. Yellow will mix in nicely with our existing decor, but lilac will add a touch of new. Oh, boy. I do, however, promise you this: next time we talk about our man Otto (can no inanimate object be nameless?), it’ll be because we’ve finished him.

I am not sure if you can seew but it may be fun to actually use both the yellow and purple. Use the yellow as the base and use the purple as an accent welt/trim and for the buttons.ReplyCancel

  • I like the yellow, but that’s just me. However, I know that what ever you choose will look fabulous.ReplyCancel

I’m drawn to yellow too because it’s like eternal summer (which we can always use after our awful winters). Though I know you’ll come up with something amazingly creative for the other fabric.ReplyCancel

If it’s going in your living room area, I’d vote lilac as a nice contrast against the green I adore. It’ll make the lilac really “pop”.ReplyCancel

Oh, no! I’m torn more than ever. Scott and I just can’t decide. Luckily, they’re both great colors in a simple enough pattern!ReplyCancel
