We love old houses. (Old news.) But did you know? Over the last 15 years, we’ve renovated four homes with a combined age of over 450 years! Along this ongoing journey, we’ve learned, succeeded, failed, and had the adventures of a lifetime. That said, a question we’ve heard more times than we could ever count, is:
I’d love to renovate my home, but where do I start?
And while this may seem like the less glamorous side of things, there’s a simple answer: With a budget, of course!
We couldn’t do what we do without setting a budget in some way, shape or form, and while it can be difficult to nail down the number that’s right for you, it’s important that you do. Going into the renovation of our small pink bathroom, we were asked by Citizens Bank if we’d help them, help you, to celebrate the milestone of home ownership, but more importantly, how to make that dream a reality.
Not only were we 100% on board, but we’re opening up and breaking down the very real numbers of our most recent pink bath renovation in the process. Between salvaging original fixtures and saving my beloved mirror, we were able to save on some larger expenses, and it’s because of those ‘saves’ that we were able to ‘splurge’ in other areas.
