Home Is…

…warm blankets, soft pillows, and a good movie night on the couch. Jack by our side is, of course, the icing on the cake. And The Mighty Ducks on the tube is a little slice of heaven, too – definitely a top 10 desert island movie in my book. (Hell-o, nerd alert.)

This past weekend, my parents and youngest brother, Josh, drove into the Windy City for some good ol’ family time. Days were spent downtown, and night activities included pajama parties on our sofa. I couldn’t resist snapping this sweet shot of my baby brother with Jack as his constant guard, since it seemed to sum up the warm fuzzy feeling of the whole weekend.

On another note, happy Monday, folks! We hope you all sliced out at least a little bit of time for some peace and quiet – or perhaps you got out and about if that’s what floats your boat, too. But we’d love to know – are there any fun stories to share?

I had such a crush on Emilio. Boy.

Monday came much too quickly this time around. Yesterday was spent gorging myself on brunch at the Snowbird ski resort up the canyon, then riding the tram up the mountain and hiking around among wildflowers. Of course, then I came home and did a fair amount of manual labor in the yard, but all-in-all it was a good day.ReplyCancel

Spent Sunday out with a long-time friend seeing CATS AND DOGS: THE REVENGE OF KITTY GALORE! Oh boy! What a funny movie! We loved the first one and *had* to see this one. Some of the characters (dogs) from the first movie are all “grown up” and have litters of their own and top secret jobs and stuff! LOL

Mondays are almost always a downer for me – back to wage slavery and its’ attendant issues; back to keeping appointments and such, etc., etc., etc. I’d much rather be hanging with a friend or two having a chai tea latte at Starbucks or window shopping along the back sidewalks of downtown Oak Park. There’s lots of new boutique stores and new restaurants and one of my favorite stores – TEN THOUSAND VILLAGES. All of the money goes to fairly paid artisans from poor countries all around the world. Do good while gettin’ pretty – nothing better than that!ReplyCancel

      Katrina,

The Mighty Ducks might as well have been a religion in our home growing up! I was shocked to learn he had never seen it, so I was very happy to break that mold.ReplyCancel
