Fun With Slides

With the hubs and I back in school, not only have we been giving our brains a workout, but we’ve also gotten quite used to our professor’s favorite learning tool: the slideshow. And not only does a good teacher love the simplicity and ease of these pretty displays, but as it turns out, so do we. Except we’re not going to make you learn. Nope. Instead, we hope to give you an even closer sneak peek into each corner of our casa. Go on, just push play.

To keep things within a mouse click’s reach, we’ve added the show to our complete tour-of-the-digs right up there on that menu bar. As a result, we’ve once again challenged ourselves to always keep you in the know with every change our home sees. And to really kick things up a notch, we’ve also included a handy dandy source list to give you the who’s who on what’s what. Nifty.

Not enough? No worries. You can send any questions you may have our way through the “Get In Touch” form on the menu bar, or you can always contact us here. And did I mention that we love your comments? Well, we do. A lot.

How great! I already checked out your source list and something in your office caught my eye- the green bike wheel is leftover from your wedding? Oh please do expound if you haven’t already…ReplyCancel

    Hi Amanda,

No, I’ve never brought up our green bike wheel before, but I actually plan to post about it (I’m going to need your help..you’ll see).

But a quick explanation I can give is that Scott and I sort of had a running bicycle theme throughout the wedding, starting with the invitations and using them again in the programs and as props during the reception. We spray painted them a bright kelly green (just like our walls!) to give them a graphic look, and kept a wheel as a momento.

For now, you see it peeking out behind the sideboard in our office! More to come soon…ReplyCancel

    Jillian,

How bizarre! Can I ask: When your comments didn’t show up, did you get a message saying that your comment was awaiting approval? I’m not sure what you may have said, but any comment that includes a link must be approved by me or Scott first (to help prevent spam). Let me know what the issue was so I can try to prevent it from happening again!

Also, yes, Overstock finally got the light back in stock! Man, were we excited. After waiting 2 months and missing 2 re-stocks, we finally got the puppy. Whew!ReplyCancel

Awesome! Love the bits of artwork in unexpected places! I know you’ve touched upon it here & there but I’d love to hear more tips of storage! Useful & do-able tips: our space is not as small but it seems we have just *stuff* everyone – odds’n’ends – that don’t “go” anywhere, even post-purge. Your place is so wonderfully spotless!ReplyCancel

Thanks for the kind words, Amy. We try to run a pretty tight ship around here! A simple place to start would be having “drop” spots around the home. For example, a basket by the door for shoes, a ceramic dish on the counter for stashing keys and wallets, and small compartment trays for inside drawers to keep even the hidden nice and tidy.

Keep an eye out for more storage solutions. We’ve got a few more tricks up our collective sleeve.ReplyCancel
