We have a ghost.
Really. To be honest, I actually like the idea of a Casper in the home – just as long as they play nice. Let me explain. Last week, I found myself awake at 3 AM. It was brighter than usual (considering the sun was still sleeping under the horizon line), and I quickly realized that our living room light was on. Weird, considering that to turn on the light, you have to purposely push the button on our remote.
After chalking it up to a probable kitty bump, I high tailed it down the dark hallway after flipping the switch, shaking Scott awake (so he could share in my neck chills, obviously), and then promptly fell back to sleep.
Fast forward to now. It’s still happening. And perhaps it’s just my imagination, but it only happens in the evening (or wee morning hours), and it’s even occurred right before our very eyes – with not a swatting cat paw in sight. Of course my better half (also known as the level headed one of this duo) assures me that it’s most likely a simple electrical surge, or better yet, perhaps the remote is just in need of new batteries. I don’t agree. In fact, we even named our new friend. Helen.
And while I secretly wish our story was a little more juicy, it turns out that Helen is a stand up gal. So this is where you come in. Spill those home-centric spooky tales. We love a good hair raiser.
