The Cleaning Tool That Changed Everything In Our House Full of Pets (+ a Giveaway!)

This post is in partnership with BISSELL®.

floor lamp | X pillow | ottoman | large art

We’re often asked how we keep our home clean with two large dogs and the sweetest elder kitty, and over the years, we’ve written a handful of posts on how we stay on top of the dirt, which includes everything from the fabrics we choose to the rules we enforce (no pups on the furniture!). And since sweet Lucy has come into our lives, we’re now extra diligent about keeping dirt at bay – from those everyday puppy kisses to the sticky fists of cat fur, she’s also a rolling, scooting girl on the loose!

Despite having a lot of systems in place to prevent everyday grime, we were intrigued when BISSELL introduced their newest product, CrossWave Pet Pro®. Catered towards those with homes full of pets (and aren’t those the coziest, snuggliest homes of all?), CrossWave Pet Pro is sure to keep your floors free of the toughest pet messes. Because, friends, get this, it vacuums and washes both hard floors and area rugs! It’s one machine that pulls double duty, replacing the broom and dustpan, mop and bucket.

Not ones to dive in without exhaustive research, Scott and I were impressed to learn that – in addition to the already awesome task of vacuuming and washing! – CrossWave Pet Pro stays tangle-free for hair up to 8″ and it comes with a concentrated multi purpose cleaner that’s earth, family and pet friendly; the latter was one of our very first concerns, which was squashed immediately. Plus, did you know that BISSELL really, truly cares about our pets? For every registered purchase of a CrossWave Pet Pro (or any designated BISSELL pet product) the BISSELL® Pet Foundation™ will donate $10 towards animal welfare organizations around the country, which not only promotes adoption and educational programs, but also helps pets find their forever homes and families. And you all know that’s what the sealed the deal for us.

Okay, so how does it work? We had a hard time wrapping our heads around it until we had it in our hands, and it really couldn’t be easier! To understand how CrossWave Pet Pro cleans so well, it’s important to mention that it has a two-tank system – one for clean water, and one for dirty water. The clean water + formula is dispensed onto the roller, and the dirty water is contained in a separate tank. Essentially, dirty water never touches your floors!

To start, we filled the clean water tank with tap water, and we topped it off with a small amount of the concentrated multi-surface cleaner. The tank has easy measuring guides on the side, so you’re not guessing if you’re using too much or too little. The clean tank then clicks into place:

On the handle are two smart control options: ‘area rug’ or ‘hard floor.’ We chose to start with ‘hard floor’ for both the hardwoods and tile throughout our home. There’s a small trigger on the underside of the handle, which releases the clean water. When pulling the trigger, clean water is dispensed onto the roller and CrossWave Pet Pro will vacuum and wash.

You know our corner pet food station? It’s still going strong, but I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been down on our hands and knees, scrubbing at the dried spills and mess. (Jack and CC are, after all, big, slobbery loves.) Both of us exclaimed at how clean the floor got after one pass of this machine! We unearthed a section of hardwood floor that had been struggling to see the light of day for years. (I wish I was joking.)

When we were done with the hard floors, we swapped the smart touch control to ‘area rug,’ and we held our breath as we rolled over the vintage rugs in our home. It didn’t take long for us to realize that this guy works. We started with the kitchen runner, and then we moved into the dining and living rooms. We even washed the plush rug in our reading nook, and with every pass of the vacuum, we marveled at how it could be so simple! If you’re wondering if the rugs get too wet, I can assure you that they feel slightly damp to the touch at first, but every one of our rugs dried beautifully. We had the same initial concern, and that worry flew out the window immediately. For reference, we use this thick rug pad under all of our area rugs, and the pad didn’t get damp at all.

When we were done vacuuming and washing the entire floor – area rugs and all! – it was time to empty the dirty water tank. Which, gross. But also extremely satisfying? The dirty tank has a strainer that separates and traps all hair, making clean up a snap. The hair and gunk from the strainer gets tossed, and the dirty water gets rinsed down the drain. I’m simultaneously sorry and thrilled to share with you how well our CrossWave Pet Pro tackled the everyday grime:

Before rolling our machine into the closet, we took a final step to keep the brush roll clean and healthy. Included with CrossWave is a slim Rinse and Storage Tray and rinse cup. When we completed all the floors and rugs(!), we placed the machine on the tray and poured clean tap water into the funnel with the cup. Then we just turned it on until all the clean water was picked up!

If you’re still wondering how BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro can do All the Things, we created a short video to share how truly unique it is!

When it comes down to it, we can’t imagine our home without our pets, and we absolutely love that our BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro helps us to have our pets and our clean home, too. Their Pet Foundation is (the very best) icing on the cake! Even better still? BISSELL wants to share all that love, and so together with BISSELL, we’re giving away a CrossWave Pet Pro (a $300 value) to a lucky reader! Here’s how:

oooh I feel like this is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I don’t know about you, but I feel like postpartum hair loss has me shedding more than the pets lately! This seems like something I could actually accomplish with a baby strapped to me too…ReplyCancel

    • Danielle6.20.18 - 5:47 AM

This sounds amazing. No pets in our house (sad about that but my husband is allergic). Do you think this product is ok for any home?? Perhaps a home with a grubby 8 year old boy and a sports equipment obsessed husband?? Or is the cleaning fluid really just for pet owners?ReplyCancel

      • Kim6.20.18 - 7:18 AM

Danielle, YES! This would really be great for active families, 100%.ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 7:18 AM

Hair. Everywhere. The pets. Me. All of us!ReplyCancel

    • Bianca6.25.18 - 1:30 PM

yes on the postpartum hair loss! oh my gosh- where did all this hair come from! this would be amazing for that too!ReplyCancel

  • Rebecca A6.20.18 - 5:42 AM

This looks awesome! We’re moving soon to a home with carpet upstairs and also having a new baby around the same time ?, so this vacuum would certainly help!ReplyCancel

  • Sarah U6.20.18 - 5:57 AM

I love the idea of this for washing the carpets, but one problem we have is kitty litter- our cats really like to launch it, and it seems like on hard floor the vacuum we have sometimes just shoots it around the floor. Did you try this near your cat’s litter pan? If so, how did it perform for that? (There’s a rug near our litter pan that sometimes gets litter overspray in it, so bonus points if you tested yours on crunchy stuff in the rug, not just pet hair!)ReplyCancel

  • Stacy nelson6.20.18 - 5:58 AM

We have dogs and kids and lots of dirt! I am totally intrigued with this product!ReplyCancel

  • Claudia6.20.18 - 5:59 AM

Wow, this looks awesome! I never thought I’d be excited about a vacuum, but we have a dog and a cat who are basically dirt balls and our current wet/dry mop and vacuum/rug shampooer aren’t really cutting it.ReplyCancel

  • Zara6.20.18 - 6:06 AM

With a kiddo and a low rider dog everything is constantly dirty so I’m super intrigued by this vacuum/wash combo!ReplyCancel

  • Lynne6.20.18 - 6:12 AM

We’ve had a little Bissell Green Machine spot cleaner for years which has been a Godsend with two large dogs and three cats and wall to wall carpets. It’s coped with mastiff power chucks and other nasty stuff, which is impressive given that is just a little machine!
After reading your review I’m really interested in the CrossWave. Long term we want to get rid of our wall to wall carpet and get laminate flooring. So my two questions are:
    1) Will the CrossWave do wall to wall carpet until we can afford to make the change.
    2) would we need to vacuum before using the CrossWave (both with laminate floors and carpeted areas). If we would still need to vacuum then we would probably just stay with our vacuum cleaner and Bissell spot cleaner as required until we replace the flooring.
    Thanks in advance :-)ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 8:20 AM

      Hi Lynne, happy to help!

      1) CrossWave covers 700 sq ft on one tank, also dependent on how much spray you’re using without. So I think it could work as a wall-to-wall carpet cleaner and refresher in the interim, but you may need to change the tank more.
      2) CrossWave is also a vacuum! So you would vacuum and pull the trigger to release the water/cleaner to wash the area, too. Our plan is to do our regular vacuuming daily / every other day, and then we will pull out our CrossWave for deeper cleans once a week or so!ReplyCancel

      • Lynne6.21.18 - 8:12 AM

Thanks so much! One more question please, just to clarify – does it pick up dog hair well when it vacuums?ReplyCancel

        • Kim6.21.18 - 10:03 AM

It’s an awesome vacuum on its own, and I can’t remember the last time our floors were so clean. We plan to vacuum daily as usual, and use CrossWave for deeper weekly cleans!ReplyCancel

  • Ellen from Ask Away Blog6.20.18 - 6:24 AM

I have 4 Chihuahuas and hardwood floors. Need I say more lol!ReplyCancel

  • Kate Hemady6.20.18 - 6:49 AM

Moving to a new house with hardwood, laminate, and carpet along with our husky who is shedding for the summer. This looks like it could be a game changer!ReplyCancel

  • Elise Lenthe6.20.18 - 7:06 AM

This would definitely simplify things! I love the clean from a steam mop, but the process of vacuuming then mopping has really led me mop less than I’d like. It would be great to have the option to do everything at once!ReplyCancel

  • Christy6.20.18 - 7:09 AM

While I love our roomba for a daily run of the house, I know I need something in addition to really get the grime and dirt from our 60 pound pup Charlie. This looks so simple and life changing to really have a clean home!ReplyCancel

    • Steph6.25.18 - 3:39 PM

I love our roomba too, and we have a dyson! I feel guilty spending so much on a mop but hey, I guess if it means mopping will actually happen then I should get one hahaReplyCancel

  • Katherine6.20.18 - 7:16 AM

Wow! I think if cleaning the floors were that easy I’d do it more often!ReplyCancel

  • stephanie Zellz6.20.18 - 7:18 AM

this would work perfect for my dane, cat, and all the extra dogs I keep though rover.comReplyCancel

  • Danielle6.20.18 - 7:27 AM

Wow,this looks so awesome! I’ve never rented a rug steamer for our area rugs because it seemed like they were designed for wall-to-wall carpet. The rug cleaner option looks sooo good! Plus I also love that you don’t have to sweep before washing the floors – something that always seems to take me longer than the actual washing! Fingers crossed!ReplyCancel

  • Kimber6.20.18 - 7:28 AM

I’ve been contemplating this vacuum to clean up after our golden retriever/chow chow mix (half of his body mass is fur!) so I’m really glad you guys reviewed it and loved it.ReplyCancel

  • Susan6.20.18 - 7:28 AM

With two young kids and two long-haired pets, this would be huge for us! We are constantly battling pet hair and messes throughout our house and our old vacuum is no longer cutting it. We would love to add this to our routine!ReplyCancel

  • heather6.20.18 - 7:29 AM

I’m retiring in November and I hope to get a puppy. This would come in handy!ReplyCancel

  • Kathleen6.20.18 - 7:30 AM

We furminate, vacuum, mop… And always, within minutes, I find spots or corners we missed or a new tuft of dog fur rolling down the hall. Would love to try this!ReplyCancel

  • Kathy6.20.18 - 7:30 AM

We have a Shark (bought on recommendation from CLJ!) but the floors in our apartment are dark and we have builder grade light carpet in the bedrooms. We clean… but my roommate has a cat that sheds like crazy, and we’ve recently started planting on the patio. I would be just as simultaneously grossed out and thrilled about the grossness that comes out of the floor as you guys!ReplyCancel

  • Sarah6.20.18 - 7:32 AM

Now that my little one is crawling, this look so like the perfect tool to keep those floors clean for her little hands and feet!ReplyCancel

  • Kayla6.20.18 - 7:32 AM

I’d love to give this a try! We live in an old house with a mix of hardwoods & rugs, and have a dog who doesn’t shed – but still creates her own fair share of messes :-)ReplyCancel

  • D Tran6.20.18 - 7:36 AM

Man this machine looks awesome…..sure would help me clean a lot more!!!ReplyCancel

  • Rachel6.20.18 - 7:41 AM

We just bought a rug for our living room, as in hasn’t even been delivered yet, and I was just thinking about how we were going to keep it clean with our two dogs and two cats! We have a pretty great mop but this seems 10x easier!ReplyCancel

  • El6.20.18 - 7:46 AM

I have never entered a blog giveaway, but man, this is the answer to my dog cleanup that I’ve been looking for.ReplyCancel

  • Clarissa6.20.18 - 7:50 AM

I have a husky who sheds ALL THE TIME and also drags in little messes. This looks like it would make my constant cleaning much easier!ReplyCancel

  • Teran6.20.18 - 7:52 AM

This would be so helpful in our house! We have hardwoods throughout our 98-year-old house, and I always feel like I’m just pushing dirt around.ReplyCancel

  • Rebecca6.20.18 - 7:54 AM

Would this work for laminate floors? Wondering how wet hard floors are after you go over them since laminate seams are prone to water damage.ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 8:14 AM

Hi Rebecca! Great question. Just double checked the site and found this: CrossWave® Pet Pro is safe for use on sealed hard floors including: sealed wood, sealed laminate, tile, and linoleum as well as area rugs!ReplyCancel

  • Amanda H6.20.18 - 8:09 AM

I love the idea that this is all in one, so easy!ReplyCancel

  • Mandi Juarez6.20.18 - 8:11 AM

I have 3 big hairy dogs and a messy kid, so being able to save time by doing multiple tasks at once would be so awesome!ReplyCancel

  • Haley6.20.18 - 8:14 AM

This sounds amazing! My man is crazy with the dog hair/paw prints and our floors. This would make his life much easier.ReplyCancel

  • Mara6.20.18 - 8:27 AM

I NEED this in my life. Seriously!ReplyCancel

  • Brittany W6.20.18 - 8:29 AM

I have hardwood floors for the first time and would love to use it to streamline my cleaning!ReplyCancel

  • HeatherB6.20.18 - 8:31 AM

I NEED this! It was so hard for me putting my babies on the floor to crawl and play with ALL THE DOG HAIR! They looked like puppies themselves whenever I’d pick them up off the rug they were so covered in fur LOL Now that they are older, they still get down on the ground and their navy school pants will be covered in white dog hair–ugh! And that will be just minutes after vacuuming…ReplyCancel

  • Liz M6.20.18 - 8:35 AM

This thing looks amazing! Although we don’t have dogs we do have a cat and two very messy little boys. This would be wonderful to clean up after all of them!ReplyCancel

  • holly6.20.18 - 8:36 AM

Where does all the hair go? We have 2 shedders and I’m thinking it looks like a quick vacuum prep would still be a good idea to avoid clogging everything up?ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 8:41 AM

There’s a strainer inside the dirty water tank! The strainer collects all the hair and gunk, so you can toss it right into the trash. We plan on using ours for a weekly deeper clean between regular vacuums. Seeing the dirty tank fill up is oddly addicting…ReplyCancel

  • Liz6.20.18 - 8:42 AM

Lord in heaven, this would CHANGE.MY.LIFE. We have a black lab (and a 4 year-old) and I’d love to be able to vacuum and mop with the same tool! #nomoremuddyprintsReplyCancel

  • Daniel J Elchert6.20.18 - 8:43 AM

how does it handle really really long human hair?ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 8:45 AM

It easily handles hair up to 8″ long, and it traps it all in the strainer!ReplyCancel

  • Molly6.20.18 - 8:47 AM

This looks amazing! WIth an active dog, it seems like I can never keep up with her messes. This looks like such a time saver!ReplyCancel

  • CHeryl6.20.18 - 8:47 AM

Hi there, quick question. We have two dogs and typically a vacuum session fills up an entire vacuum canister with fur and dirt. This one just seems so small. Will it vacuum up all the fur? It just seems so small!ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 8:52 AM

Hi Cheryl! We plan on using ours for a weekly deeper clean between regular vacuums. Even still, we were so so impressed with how much hair, fur and gunk it picked up in the strainer.ReplyCancel

  • Viktorija Norvaisaite6.20.18 - 8:48 AM

I NEED THIS! My puppy is just a ball of mess walking around with wet paws after spilling his water bowl or just drooling all over the place. I have new hardwood floors but kind of gave up with trying to keep them always clean as it’s so frustrating with having to use all these different vaccums, brooms, mops…ReplyCancel

  • Tara6.20.18 - 8:49 AM

We’ve had a Bissell green machine for years & is it ever useful to have on hand. This Crosswave looks amazing. I had seen a commercial for it which piqued my interest, but your article is just the thing to make me get serious about it. Thanks!ReplyCancel

  • Nieka Harris6.20.18 - 8:50 AM

I need this! I am not a pet owner, but I do have a very rambunctious 2 year old. I count too, right? The area rugs and wall to wall carpeting in my home would truly thank me for this vacuum.ReplyCancel

  • Elisa6.20.18 - 8:52 AM

Ah we’ve had a Bissell vacuum for forever – it’s been awesome. But this looks amazing ?ReplyCancel

  • Liz6.20.18 - 8:53 AM

Oh man, I need this in my life/house. I’ve learned that having a good gadget/appliance helps encourage me to do these household chores — even just my handheld vac has helped, but with three cats it’s a constant struggle.ReplyCancel

  • Kristin6.20.18 - 8:55 AM

With two dogs and a cat, this would be amazing! Even though we wipe puppy paws at the door, they still manage to track in so much dirt!ReplyCancel

  • Heather D.6.20.18 - 8:55 AM

This could not crossed my path at better time. We have concrete floors in our house and I am constantly chasing down cat hair tumbleweeds. Cleaning our floors is a process. Sweep, mop, steam, mop again, steam one last time. I need this in my life! HahaReplyCancel

  • Katya6.20.18 - 8:55 AM

/what a marvelous invention. I have been putting off buying a wool area rug for fear of how to clean it effectively, without resorting to sending it out to a dry cleaner. This looks like just the ticket. Thank you for entertaining video!ReplyCancel

  • dione smith6.20.18 - 9:00 AM

This sucker (lol) would be so handy for our home!!ReplyCancel

  • rose6.20.18 - 9:01 AM

We just bought some really nice rugs, and I have a black cat and an orange cat, so no matter the rug color, hair is visible. This would be a dream.ReplyCancel

  • Hal6.20.18 - 9:01 AM

    Does the vacuum work well?ReplyCancel

  • Kelsey G6.20.18 - 9:13 AM

I NEED THIS. Since they have been doing yard work whenever it’s not raining and I have dark floors, I have to vacuum and mop EVERY DAY.ReplyCancel

  • Savannah6.20.18 - 9:14 AM

This might just be the solution I’ve been looking for!! 3 young kids & 2 Golden retrievers don’t mix well with our dark floors ? Definitely gonna look into this!ReplyCancel

  • Adee Pintzov6.20.18 - 9:15 AM

As a pet & baby owner (that sounds wrong…), this would be amazing to win!ReplyCancel

  • Jamie dehne6.20.18 - 9:21 AM

This would be life changing! We have vintage rugs in every room and the challenge of the toddler + dog messes is NEVER ENDING! Thank you for such an in-depth review! I have seen this on a few other bloggers sites and wanted it but I was skeptical about the rug cleaner… now I feel like like it is totally worth it, fingers crossed??!!!ReplyCancel

  • Anne6.20.18 - 9:22 AM

We lost our pup a few months ago so hair clumps aren’t as much of an issue, but since he’s gone we realize how much toddler under-table mess he “took care of” for us! I’m sure another furry friend will join our family soon and we’ll trade crumbs for puppy dirt and hair once again!ReplyCancel

  • Hannah Gokie6.20.18 - 9:25 AM

Oh man, this would be amazing for keeping up with our golden retriever Murphy and our two toddlers! They’re always rolling around on the floor and having something that actually washes the dirt out of our rugs and carpet would be sweeeeet.ReplyCancel

  • Abi monroe6.20.18 - 9:25 AM

With 12 rescued dogs, 14 cats and 2 horses(ok so the horses aren’t in the house yet) this sounds like the answer to my ongoing cleaning issues!!ReplyCancel

  • Carrie6.20.18 - 9:27 AM

My vacuum recently broke, and I’ve been shopping for a new one.
I’ve been thinking about getting a carpet shampooer as well, and this looks so perfect! We are trying to start a family, and I would really like to replace our carpet, but that’s just not in the budget right now. So this would help in the meantime!ReplyCancel

  • Sue L6.20.18 - 9:28 AM

  • Emily6.20.18 - 9:46 AM

This product looks incredible! We have two sweet dogs (a black Lab and a Weimaraner/lab mix) which means we have a serious dog hair tumbleweed situation happening. Our entire first floor is hardwood and tile (and area rugs) so I love that this is a product I can use on everything!ReplyCancel

  • Debbie A6.20.18 - 9:47 AM

This would make cleaning up a breeze!!ReplyCancel

  • Janette6.20.18 - 9:47 AM

I am intrigued by this! Would it be okay on wool area rugs? Our rugs are mostly 100% wool. Thanks!ReplyCancel

  • Kathleen6.20.18 - 9:48 AM

This would be amazing! I feel like my house still looks dirty after cleaning because it feels impossible to get all the dog hair/dog tracks.ReplyCancel

This seems amazing! I have a baby one week younger than yours and keeping up with our pets hair is such a chore right now!ReplyCancel

  • Courtney6.20.18 - 9:54 AM

Wow! I have experience using both an upright (heavy!) steam cleaner as well as a portable spot cleaner from Bissell, and both have performed beautifully when tackling tough kitty messes. It would be amazing to have a machine that is lighter, serves double duty as a vacuum, and can tackle hard surfaces!ReplyCancel

  • jaime6.20.18 - 9:55 AM

This would be a dream to have! I have an aging long haired cat and this would make cleaning up her messes so much easier!ReplyCancel

Yes please! We’ve been holding on getting a second pibble because the grime and dirt is TOO MUCH. If I had this, we’d definitely need a second dog. :)ReplyCancel

Yes to a second pibble! You can never have too many, right? :DReplyCancel

  • Nicole W.6.20.18 - 10:01 AM

I have the Bissell Crosswave and it is so convenient!ReplyCancel

  • Nicole Fischer6.20.18 - 10:01 AM

This is amazing! We have two boxers and use a Roomba + our Dyson pretty often, but don’t have a great solution for carpet cleaning or regular mopping, so I love that this does all of the above.
Does this have any attachments for upholstery/stairs? We try to keep our dogs off of the furniture, but we have an upholstered bed they love to rub against, and I do still catch them on a couch occasionally.ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 10:16 AM

At this time, it doesn’t have any attachments.ReplyCancel

  • Amy6.20.18 - 10:02 AM

Love reading your blog and seeing all the beautiful ways you are updating both your Chicago home and treehouse home! This Bissel would be a dream with two dogs that shed like it is 100 degrees all year round! Thank you for sharing all your experience and knowledge with all of us!ReplyCancel

  • Rachel6.20.18 - 10:02 AM

This is awesome. I know it different, but I like that it’s not as bulky as a traditional carpet cleaner. I’m also a huge fan of bissell, even if it’s weird to be a fan of a vacuum brand.ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 10:12 AM

It is NOT weird to be a fan of a vacuum brand!ReplyCancel

  • Amy McConnell-Salmento6.20.18 - 10:05 AM

    This sounds amazing!ReplyCancel

  • Stephanie6.20.18 - 10:06 AM

Okay, I love this! If only apartments weren’t almost entirely covered in carpet – but it would still be so great for those areas with laminate, and I can’t help but thinking what a great gift it would be for my mom!ReplyCancel

  • Erica Arena6.20.18 - 10:16 AM

I need this in my life!! Two dogs and two kids and lots of floors and area rugs that need some love.ReplyCancel

  • Karen6.20.18 - 10:18 AM

    This looks great! Fingers crossed.ReplyCancel

  • Emily6.20.18 - 10:18 AM

As I just finally cleaned up all of the winter coat that has been gathering in the corners of our home, I know this would make our lives easier!ReplyCancel

  • Erica Boyer6.20.18 - 10:19 AM

This Bissell would hopefully help our cleaning routine so that when we leave for work in the morning we aren’t covered in dog hair!ReplyCancel

  • Nina Manley6.20.18 - 10:22 AM

This looks awesome! My new place has mostly hardwood and my current vacuum just isn’t cutting it. Between the dog and the kid and the long winters we have here in Minneapolis, this would be amazing!ReplyCancel

  • Heather6.20.18 - 10:23 AM

Our house has 7 kids and two dogs, one of whom is a new rescue puppy who pees on the floor when lonely or anxious! Anything that makes cleaning easier and more efficient in our busy home is a huge win!ReplyCancel

This looks like a lifesaver for any home with a pet(s) and kid(s)!ReplyCancel

  • Jenna6.20.18 - 10:52 AM

The Bissel looks great, but the stars of the show, for me, are CC and Jack :)ReplyCancel

  • Jackie G.6.20.18 - 11:03 AM

We got a dog this year, and will be moving into our first house next month. This would be the perfect thing to have. I am never really sure how clean our floors are getting when we mop- I love (in a gross fascination way) that you can see the grime but you know it’s not touching your floors.ReplyCancel

  • Charla6.20.18 - 11:07 AM

I’ve been considering this for our house, actually — thanks for the review! We’ve got three furbabies as well, and I was giving the side-eye to our rugs the other day.ReplyCancel

  • Jillian L6.20.18 - 11:08 AM

We just got a husky puppy and I feel like we’re going to need this in our future!ReplyCancel

  • Jenny N.6.20.18 - 11:09 AM

  • Chelsey N6.20.18 - 11:35 AM

Ahhh, with two dogs and a mix of hardwood and carpet – VERY interested. *fingers crossed*ReplyCancel

  • Annie Johnson6.20.18 - 11:40 AM

What is this magic machine! I have always been leery of cleaning my old hardwood floors with a machine like this, but this looks very promising. And between the mess my old half-toothless cat makes eating his wet food and the litter that my new kitten kicks out of the high-sided box, this would be a game-changer!ReplyCancel

  • Phoua6.20.18 - 11:42 AM

Looks like it works great. Would you recommend it for a home without pets?ReplyCancel

  • MeganKC6.20.18 - 11:44 AM

This looks fantastic! How wonderful to be able to skip the sweeping and get rid of the broom and dustpan!!ReplyCancel

  • Samantha Gotthardt6.20.18 - 11:46 AM

Oh. My. Gosh. That looks amazing!ReplyCancel

  • Zoe P6.20.18 - 11:48 AM

This is awesome! I have 2 cats and live in a small studio with limited storage so I love how this has all the things in 1! Also, I have tile floors that we rarely mop in addition to vintage rugs. This seems like it would really solve for all surfaces.ReplyCancel

  • Annmarie Lucchesi6.20.18 - 11:48 AM

This looks ike a genius idea, our vacuum is on its last legs and this might be a perfect replacement!ReplyCancel

  • Lindsay6.20.18 - 11:50 AM

Not having to vacuum and then scrub the floors would be amazing! And I think we all have the rug that has gone way too long between cleanings.ReplyCancel

  • Jessica6.20.18 - 11:53 AM

I’ve really been wanting to try this system. My Great Dane tracks in so much dirt in those big paws. Both the hardwoods and rugs in my apartment would really benefit.ReplyCancel

  • Susan6.20.18 - 11:59 AM

Oh my goodness, this would be a game-changer! I feel like my floors/rugs never get *really* clean.ReplyCancel

I gave up on my Hoover steamer a while back but with a new puppy I could definitely put this Bissell to use!ReplyCancel

  • Pamela6.20.18 - 12:12 PM

I currently use a Kirby, and love it, but the ease of use of the Bissell without all the attachment fuss seems intriguing!ReplyCancel

  • Cheryl Comeaux6.20.18 - 12:18 PM

Do you know if this is safe to use on natural slate tile? Does it steam?

As always, I love seeing sweet Jack and CC!CC’s eyes kill me every time!ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 12:54 PM

It doesn’t steam, just a safe and effective way to clean SEALED floors. This is what it says on their website: CrossWave® Pet Pro is safe for use on sealed hard floors including: sealed wood, sealed laminate, tile, and linoleum as well as area rugs!ReplyCancel

  • Sam6.20.18 - 12:24 PM

This would be a game-changer for us and our two dogs! It is very visible where they like to lounge on our carpet — on stair landings and space between our living room rug and foyer. It’s terrifying to see what color the carpet used to be!ReplyCancel

  • Robbie Butler6.20.18 - 12:33 PM

Your house is so lovely and light!ReplyCancel

  • Alex6.20.18 - 12:33 PM

This would be amazing for our house with a newborn on the way and a very hairy black lab already in the house!ReplyCancel

  • Kayley6.20.18 - 12:36 PM

The Bissell vacuum would be great because, in addition to having a cat of my own, I foster kittens and they are incredibly messy. The vacuum would make clean-up much easier and more effective.ReplyCancel

  • Jessica6.20.18 - 12:39 PM

This would be so great for our two cat household. We’ve got carpet, rugs, wood, laminate, linoleum, and tile all in a one bedroom apartment. This seems like it could do wonders to keep our place clean and help keep seasonal and pet allergies at bay!ReplyCancel

  • Nichole M6.20.18 - 12:41 PM

The link is malfunctioning I believe!ReplyCancel

  • Kerry6.20.18 - 1:26 PM

Ack! For some reason the Rafflecopter won’t work for me! BUT – I would LOVE to win this. We just adopted two Lykoi cats and what makes them unique is – they molt. So a good vaccum that not only picks up the hair but cleans everything really well (one of them is still having litter box issues so we are scrubbing A LOT), would be so key right now.ReplyCancel

  • Kim6.20.18 - 1:31 PM

So sorry, everyone! It looks like the Rafflecopter widget isn’t working. We’re working on it, thank you for letting us know!ReplyCancel

  • Chelsea6.20.18 - 2:11 PM

2 small kids. 2 cats. 1 dog. And a freak about clean floors. I would love this!ReplyCancel

  • Cassie6.20.18 - 2:16 PM

My husband and I adopted our fur baby a couple of years ago and last week our vacuum lost the battle against her fur and died in a dusty heap after a valiant effort to clean our wool area rug. Our girl is a lab/Australian Shepherd mix, and I swear she blows her coat year round! I’ve been looking into a replacement vacuum and hadn’t even seen this one yet, but it looks awesome and like it could handle her unique shedding needs :)ReplyCancel

  • Stephanie6.20.18 - 2:24 PM

I would LOVE this! We have a dog and a cat and even though I clean the floors multiple times a week, this would be nice to deep clean everything (including area rugs). I’m equally grossed out/fascinated with seeing all the dirt I clean up!ReplyCancel

  • Samantha6.20.18 - 2:40 PM

This would make such a difference in my cleaning routine as I chase around a 90 lb dog and a 15 month old. Plus, the effeciency of this tool excites this Industrial Engineer. ;)ReplyCancel

  • Lindsey H6.20.18 - 2:44 PM

With 2 dogs, a cat, a 16 month old and a baby on the way this is what my heart dreams of! All hardwood floors are great until it is time to clean!!ReplyCancel

  • Betsy6.20.18 - 2:45 PM

  • Grace Jones6.20.18 - 2:46 PM

Oh man, I was just trying to get it from Chris Loves Julia facebook live! My husband and I just bought our first house – a fixer-upper – and we could totally use this! We’ve been doing all our cleaning with a shop vac which sometimes just makes it feel even dirtier!

Our house was vacant for a year before we moved in and it feels stale. Couple that with our dog and we could totally utilize this!ReplyCancel

  • Stacey Lacer6.20.18 - 2:51 PM

We have two cats and two preschoolers, and floors that need vacuuming every day! It would be so awesome to wash the wood floors at the same time as vacuuming to save previous time.ReplyCancel

Oh fight the good fight….against the pet hair! I NEED this!ReplyCancel

  • Wehaf6.20.18 - 4:08 PM

I have two dogs who are always tracking dirt in; this would let me deep clean our hard floors and our carpets without pulling out a mop or having to barricade doors to keep people and pets off of wet floors.ReplyCancel

  • Meredith6.20.18 - 4:15 PM

I need this to help me clean up after my two long hair cats! I hate having to use different methods on the hard and soft surfaces in our apartment. This would save so much time!ReplyCancel

  • Susan6.20.18 - 4:15 PM

With this I would have no excuse not to have an impeccable floors. From your demo, it works far better than my traditional vaccuum and mop do separately. And it might convince me to keep my area rug that shows stains so easily.ReplyCancel

  • Cori6.20.18 - 4:17 PM

We are planning on getting a dog soon – an Australian Shepherd – so I would love this vacuum to keep up with all the dog hair!ReplyCancel

  • Nicole6.20.18 - 4:25 PM

  • Meghan A Healy6.20.18 - 4:36 PM

This thing looks like a game changer! I always feel awful when my sweet little guy crawls around and is COVERED in his pup’s fur…..even though I vacuum daily : (ReplyCancel

  • Kelly Kuntz6.20.18 - 4:44 PM

This would be the perfect solution for our home. WIth kids and a dog I’m vacuuming and then mopping and it takes sooo long.ReplyCancel

  • Barbara Noland6.20.18 - 5:19 PM

Not only would this help me with pets…..my husband is a landscaper. Although he tries to knock off debris and dirt before entering the house, inevitably he is like Linus w a dust bowl of leaves, dirts and grass falling everywhere. This Crosswave would be a god-send in helping to clean up after them.ReplyCancel

  • Natalie Stone6.20.18 - 5:20 PM

We have a pitbull baby at home, and she loves to track in dirt. This tool solves the problem we have of not having all the tools needed to really get the floor CLEAN.ReplyCancel

  • Sharon6.20.18 - 6:21 PM

This looks like a good fit for our needs, but three questions… 1. What about hair longer than 8”? Would I have to pre-vacuum? 2. Would this work on furniture? 3. Could I use a natural cleaner i.e. vinegar/ essential oils with the machine? Thanks for your help!ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 8:53 PM

      Hi Sharon!

      1. Our goal is do our daily vacuuming as usual, and we pull out CrossWave on a weekly basis for a deeper clean.
      2. There are no attachments for this, as the main focus is getting ALL the floors SO clean!
      3. I don’t see why not, but you might want to contact a BISSELL customer service rep. The solution that comes with it is earth, family and pet friendly!ReplyCancel

      • Sharon6.21.18 - 8:45 PM

Thanks for your response! I have been meaning to research and find a great vac for couches since we foolishly do let our dog – an 80 lb lab – up on them. (Never again! All future dogs will not have couch access!) But I think we’ll take advantage of your recommendation and get amazingly clean floors in the meantime!ReplyCancel

  • Lauren6.20.18 - 6:27 PM

This is amazing! Does it have an upholstery attachment? Thanks for posting your dirty water picture, I am repulsed when I see mine and now I know it’s not just me ?ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.20.18 - 8:51 PM

It doesn’t have any attachments, which actually keeps the machine lean and amazing at what it does – floors!ReplyCancel

  • Bethany6.20.18 - 7:32 PM

Oh my word… I wouldn’t have to pay for a housecleaner anymore. that is the single reason that I have a person to my house once a month – to clean the floors!! I just can’t ever seem to get them clean on my own, but this looks like it could solve all my problems. Hallelujah!!!ReplyCancel

  • Gill6.20.18 - 7:41 PM

Our 10-year-old Labrador, Leo, is the love of our lives. But the tumbleweeds of fur! The muddy foot prints! The cross wave would be the bomb!ReplyCancel

  • Sarah A6.20.18 - 8:07 PM

The underbowl grunge is real. Our hardwood floors and our rescue pup Luna would thank you. Luna might actually get upset- seems like her life mission is to distribute as much hair as possible throughout the house.ReplyCancel

  • Samantha6.20.18 - 8:09 PM

Anything that can tackle my dog’s never ending hair falling out, I’ll sing praises to. It literally multiplies over night. At the moment I have a 3 step process, 1) spot vacuum clumps of dog hair with the hand vac, 2) dry mop with the duster to catch all the dog hair and then 3) mop….it’s a long process, this would make it much easier.ReplyCancel

  • Rust6.20.18 - 8:24 PM

  • Ryan6.20.18 - 10:59 PM

This thing is too good to be true! I have two big hairy dogs (one of which is 14 and has the occasional old lady accident), so this machine would be CLUTCH in my house!ReplyCancel

  • Cathy D.6.20.18 - 11:11 PM

We have two dogs (that shed like crazy!) and a toddler, and I attempted to keep our house cl an by buying the Hoover Power Scrub last year that essentially does the same thing as this but has attachments so I can use it to clean my sofa. Now while that sounds great and all, that thing is a beast to move around and clean! So much so i haven’t used it as often as I’d like (and need!). I’d love to give this one a try even if it doesn’t have attachments, so I can get our main living area cleaned more thoroughly.ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.21.18 - 10:05 AM

This is such a great point. At first, we wondered why it wouldn’t have attachments, but now that we have it and use it, we understand why! It’s so slim, easy to use, and it does one thing REALLY great, and that’s cleaning floors. Can’t praise it enough!ReplyCancel

  • Melissa6.20.18 - 11:18 PM

This sounds amazing! Is it too good to be true?ReplyCancel

Wow, this sounds like such a perfect product! I have three big, hairy, messy dogs who I love to the moon and back, and when my ex of seven years moves out in the next few weeks, he’ll take the vacuum with him. So I’m suddenly on the hunt again. I’d love something that doesn’t clog every five minutes and that can clean ev.ery.thing. Plus, donations to pets in need!ReplyCancel

  • Laura Hogg6.21.18 - 12:03 PM

So my husband and I have 2 great danes and an cat! They make our house our home and I feel like this is the answer to my biggest problem which is the crazy dirt floors and rugs we have because of our 3 fur babies and ourselves! Oh and all of our guests! lol Hoping to win this and solve all the “crazy” moments I have when the floors get so dirty and I am exhausted even thinking about all the sweeping and vacuuming and mopping I have to do to get them clean! This Bissell would change the game for me!ReplyCancel

Between area rugs covering only portions of the parquet and a messy, shedding 13 year old terrier (oh and a toddler and freshly minted first grader!) we have a lot of messes to clean up every day. How nice it would be to handle them all with one tool.ReplyCancel

  • Steph6.25.18 - 3:34 PM

I’m in the market for a great mop, but won’t this make our dyson vacuums redundant? Sorry if this is already answered above- just going to read above comments now.ReplyCancel

    • Kim6.25.18 - 4:04 PM

We think the best way to think of this tool is to use it for the deeper cleans. So in our house, we’ll vacuum daily or every other day, and the BISSELL comes out weekly / a few times monthly!ReplyCancel

  • Lia6.25.18 - 4:32 PM

Even in a small apartment I feel like all we ever do is sweep up dog hair. This would be a lifesaver!ReplyCancel
