Be Our Guest: Parlour Home

We couldn’t be more smitten than we already are with Miss Nichole of Parlour Home. Talk about the perfect kick off to a week’s worth of fabulous guest bloggers. Her dreamy decor is perfectly feminine, classy, and fun (and don’t you know we love a girl who can inject that ooh-la-la into a space). Get ready to bookmark your browser; Nichole’s color palette and easy tricks will surely have you hooked.

Hi there, Nichole from Parlour Home here. First off, I want to give a big thank you to Kim and Scott for inviting me for a guest post in their place while they are away having a fabulous little anniversary trip (I’m jealous!). It makes me feel wonderful that they are entrusting their readers to me for a day.

So, I got to thinking about what I can offer you (as their readers). Then I decided I would just introduce myself and highlight a few of my favorite DIY’s that I have been up to over on my blog, Parlour, as I’m sure many of you are not familiar with me, although hopefully that will change after today.

The first picture (above) is my dining area and a DIY “light” fixture that I made to put over my table. It literally took over 1200 coffee filters to make that sucker…but, you don’t have to make one that big. It would be much easier and quicker with a smaller version, and it would still make a big impact in a room.

Then the second DIY (below), would be the dining table itself. You are not seeing things, the table is spotted. It is actually fabric that I adhered to the table and then sealed it to make it permanent. I’m sooo happy with how it turned out… Again, super easy.

The last DIY I wanted to highlight is a pendant shade that I did for over my breakfast table/island in the kitchen. I decided I wanted a little more color and was inspired by a shade I saw at ABC Home (EXPENSIVE) here in NYC. I found a regular white shade from Target and got to painting. This was how it turned out, and I’m more than happy with it.

So, that is a quick tour of my neck of the woods. Thanks again to my fabulous bloggy hosts; I’m so grateful that you invited me over, and I hope you are having a lovely, lovely trip. And to the readers, thanks for sticking with me and I hope you enjoyed what I had to share. Please, come on over and visit sometime!

Thank you, Nichole!

Holy. Moly. Your timing couldn’t be better! I need both a light fixture AND a lampshade for the toddler’s room, and that coffee filter idea is EXACTLY the kind of thing I’m wanting. Only, you know, WAY smaller.

    Bookmarked!ReplyCancel

Looks nice and would definitely smell nice too! Im hoping to design my first floor like this but not too graphic like this one. It looks nice but not really a manly-man design. If i’m going to design my personal space, I will have the same color but lessen the curves on the abstract patterns that I will use for my wall. Just a suggestion! Thanks for the idea!=)ReplyCancel
