Adventures in Wallpaper

Welp, here goes nothing. After over a year of agonizing over all things wallpaper, Scott and I decided to take the leap. We purchased this bold, jacquard pattern from Anthropologie (on sale, whee!) and it arrived in the mail this week.

Since it can be a bit iffy to buy something like this without actually seeing it first, truth be told, we were a little hesitant. So after showing the hubs my online discovery, we asked ourselves if we were truly the wallpaper type. After first being inspired by papers like this and this (but being deterred by the large price tags), it only took a minute before we realized that at the current low cost, we better make our move before we chicken out. (Bonus: this paper boasts “sure-strip backing” which allows for paste-free application and, supposedly, “easy removal.” We will see, we will see).

Within minutes, I was scrambling for the tape measure (nothing would be worse than not ordering enough – only to find out it’s no longer available) and Scott was mocking up drawings. Yes, we really are that dorky.

So where will it go? How will it look? Are these circles really going to work? Time will tell. Until then, stay tuned, my friends.

Kim doing wallpaper?! My world’s turning upside down! I will say I’m a fan of the geometric and still very poppy design. I’m looking forward to seeing the outcome.ReplyCancel

Tony, who’d have thought? We’re looking forward to it, too! Now if only there weren’t 5 other projects in line…ReplyCancel

Kim, Did I just read what I thought I did? Please talk to Ann about the joys of wallpaper removal. We just purchased a steam wallpaper remover. It is the most popular tool in our Hawkstone Subdivision. Lowes, $50.
