California Love

With all our new year smack talking, pet photo taking, and supposed media center making, you’d think we could have been a bit more on the ball with our California sharing. So let’s take a queue from Tupac and get on with it, yeah?

To celebrate two years of marriage, my man and I fled the Windy City for the Sunshine State, flying into San Francisco, out of San Diego, and driving a shiny, white rental in between. Instead of a whole lotta yadda yadda, we think photos really say it best (and better than we could). Just click the first image or any thumbnail below to view the gallery. Believe us when we say we picked our tops – there are a few hundred more we’ll spare you.

We kept our promises – eating our weight in avocados, spending a (starry, starry) night in a yurt, and playing on beaches, in the zoo, and under blue skies the whole time. You California folk have it pretty alright.

Anyone else in the middle of a vacation planning frenzy? Who else is ready to get out of the cold and into some sun? We’re not there yet, but give us a month and we’ll be yearning for our Caribbean honeymoon, take two.

Your beautiful photos remind me all the more why I love living in California! We’re going through a warm spell these last few days, but I’ll shut up about that now so you don’t hate me.

Lately I’m dreaming of an Australian (after things dry up down there) or San Diego – Baja Mexico roadtrip.ReplyCancel

Your photos make me wish I could pack up my things and start again… Somewhere warm, with sand, salty air, and year-round sun. Oh Chicago, you make me sad during these gray days. Thanks Vargo. California, it is. Perhaps my next sunny trip?? Or move??ReplyCancel

    Great pics!

I <3 San Fran! We went this time last year for a wedding/vacation but it was way too short (and cold&rainy). We only saw the Pacific from across the street, up a cliff and under an umbrella, haha. So we're dreaming about going back, or going to Seattle. Or both.ReplyCancel
