It’s been close to a year since we completed our master bedroom renovation, and a little more than a year that we’ve been sleeping soundly on our Leesa mattress. Not surprisingly, we’ve received lots of emails since then from those of you that have been curious about our Leesa – do you still love it?, you ask. The short answer? Yes! A thousand times, yes.
But you know we’re going to dive into the longer answer, too, right? There are a lot of options out there for a bed in a box, and most of them follow the same model of a 100-day money back guarantee (after which, if you’re not completely satisfied, they’ll pick it up and donate it for you!). Not having tried any of the others, we can confidently say that we would, without a doubt, purchase Leesa again.
I think it’s important to note that this is not a sponsored post, but knowing that we were going to give a one-year-update, I did reach out to Leesa and ask if they would consider upping our standing promotion from $75 to $100, and they agreed! We realize that a mattress is an investment – an important one! – so if you’ve been on the fence, maybe this will be the little incentive you need to give it a try. The $100 discount will automatically be applied to checkout when you visit Leesa through May 31st, after which, you’ll still receive $75 off.
Before our Leesa, Scott and I slept on this queen-size memory foam that we purchased right after our wedding. (And before that, we were still using our college-day spring mattress whose only accomplishment was rolling you towards the middle, should you dare try to sleep.) To be honest, we loved the way the memory foam mattress felt, even if it did get a smidge too hot in the warmer months. After almost a decade of use, it was still just as supportive and firm as the day we bought it, not bad at that price point! Our biggest reason to switch to a new mattress was that for the first time in our adult lives, we had the space to make the leap from a queen to a king – a day we had long been looking forward to.
Our experience with Leesa has been nothing but positive from the very beginning. It’s soft yet firm, and if one of us is extra fussy during sleep, the other can’t feel a thing. (You know the old adage where you can jump on your bed with a glass of red wine at your feet? It’s like that – ha!) Scott is the kind of person who is sound asleep the second his head hits the pillow, whereas I’m more of a toss-and-turner until I can find my perfect nook of pillows and sheets. My back is constantly achy from a slew of issues over the years, and I find that with Leesa, I’m the most comfortable when I’m laying flat on my back, although I experience zero pain points from sleeping on my side (or my stomach), either.
A few months ago, our neighbor said she was thisclose to going with Leesa (after poring over the thousands of reviews), so I invited her up to our room to give it a test drive. The second she laid down, she said, Done! Of course we know that our experience is ours alone, but we’ve happily recommended Leesa to anyone who asks! Their 100 day trial makes it risk-free, but we especially love that they’re American made and for every 10 mattresses sold, 1 is donated.
For anyone who has been on the fence (or sent us a note), we hope our update helps you make the decision that’s right for you! In other news, we thought it’d be fun to take you around our room and recap how the rest of the elements have been working out, starting with our nightstands:
Above, Scott uses this sweet marble shelf, since the only thing he keeps by his bedside is his phone. Below, you can see I like a few more items on my nightstand – a few books, a scented candle and the world’s cutest alarm clock. We both use these peel and stick organizers to keep our cables at the ready; it’s this simple convenience that saves us from fishing for our chargers along the floor every evening. (I also keep my Kindle charger tucked in there!)
We’ve run through our fair share of pillows over the years, but nothing quite clicked until we purchased these king-sized down alternative pillows! They’re incredibly soft, but they have more than enough filling to feel substantial. With more than a year of use on the books, they haven’t flattened or changed shape since day one. If one of us is having a sick day, we’ll carry these pillows down to the couch and cuddle up; they’re so cozy. We pair them with a matching down alternative duvet insert, and we bounce back and forth between a clean white linen cover (this one, but sadly, it looks like it’s no longer available in white) or this striped duvet set from Target, depending on our mood.
I first picked up these vintage washed sheets from Target in pink moons ago, and we loved them so much, I went back and picked up a white set, too! I personally love when sheets feel crisp and cool to the touch, and these do just that. They’re relaxed and remind me slightly of linen (read: a tad bit wrinkly), but that’s the charm in them.
We haven’t made many changes to our room since the day we first shared it with you – aside from adding a few new sheets into the mix – but I suppose that’s a good thing! We’ve been so happy with our bedroom, that even as a girl who loves a good hotel bed, I can’t wait to dive back into our own space after being away from home.
Most of the items in our room are listed below (let me know if I’ve forgotten something), and don’t forget, you can start here for $100 off a Leesa mattress through May 31st! (After which, a $75 discount will still be applied – hooray!)
