The Pet Shop v.2 Makes Its Debut!

As if Scott’s 31st and our bloggy anniversary weren’t enough to make a week worth celebrating, we’re adding one more to the table (and we can hardly contain ourselves): meet our “new” Pet Shop, v.2!

For the last couple of months, we’ve been busy on the back end, working to bring you a new shop that’s easy, fresh and informative – separating ourselves from our old news one page layout of yore. We have a bit of tidying up to accomplish around this virtual home of ours (just a personal, type-A to do), but you can still access our very live and active Shop from the sidebar, as always.

Now, you’ll find everything in one place – from those custom, mini modern portraits you know well, to signed art prints, original paintings and gift certificates. You may remember our fancy shmancy model, Miss Maddie, showing off our newest stock size, the 8×8 – and we’ve added a few new faces, too!

We’re also thrilled to be collaborating alongside animal rescue nonprofits, and we’ll be working closely with one organization at a time on a quarterly basis. For every sale in The Pet Shop, 10% of our proceeds from every product will be happily given back to those loyal, fuzzy companions waiting for a forever home. Our first partnership is with New Leash on Life Chicago (extended for one month due to a mid-month launch date), and we couldn’t be more smitten with their mission. Learn all about them right here.

And to kick off our grand opening (v.2!), we’ve partnered with Chick and The Dude’s momma from Love & a Six-Foot Leash to give away one of our custom portraits in the new, larger 8×8 size! Go here for your chance to get your paws, er, mitts on one. There may be a little something extra in it for you, too.

We hope you’ll take a moment to poke around, see what’s new, and get better acquainted with this team. If we weren’t clear yesterday, let it be known that we think you guys are the tops. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting us and making this our reality.

This debut would not be complete without thanking Mr. Lively (yup, of Makeunder My Life), our amazing web developer who brought our ideas to life. Thank you to the moon and back; you rock.

Yeah! The shop looks great (and Happy Birthday Scott – I was unplugged from reality for a while there so missed the actual day), and I love the portraits of Chick and Doodlebug.ReplyCancel

Kim an Scott — I’ve been lurking around your blog for quite some time, but I just have to speak up and congratulate you on your absolutely PERFECT new virtual home! I love the Petshop and am absolutely SMITTEN with the tiny art prints! We’re in the process of rescuing a senior citizen pittie and can’t wait to have a portrait made once our little dumpling finally joins us. Cheers, and congrats again! RReplyCancel

And now we’re wondering… is it too early to have a celebratory drink? Phew!ReplyCancel

Congratulations on the 3rd year, and on the v.2 of The Pet Shop. It looks really great, and so proud of you for coming so far. I’ve been holding out on getting a portrait of my little Trinity (WHY? I DO NOT KNOW!) but this may be the year … I’ll have to start writing up her story. She has got a little plump over the years, so maybe I’ll just share photos of her skinny days — HA HA!

Have you seen the new Purina commercials? “Catitude” ? Yep, that’s my girl.ReplyCancel

You haven’t seen them yet? Oh my!

This one has Trinity written all over it, except with a computer keyboard, not a newspaper. Though I still love her. Haha

Amanda, TOO funny! Maddie is totally the sweater girl. I can’t lay any article of clothing on my bed, unless I want stripey furs on it…ReplyCancel
