It’s thisclose to the weekend, and I’m practically floating because I am excited. Like, holy schmoly, omg, it’s almost Saturday! And then it’ll be Sunday! And while that’s pretty obvious, we’re looking forward to a lovely weekend planned with some of our closest friends, and we’re scrambling to wrap up all our loose ends. So we can turn off our brains. And I can take off my twenty-five hats and just put on my relaxation cap.
Lately, it seems as though our collective minds have been running in too many directions. Do you feel this way (sometimes), too? I blame it on the slooow turning of the seasons, and my dire need for warm sun, pink drinks with pink umbrellas, and flea market season.
Okay, so really, I need two photo frames. That need, in turn, gives me the yummy, summertime yearn to dig through other people’s stuff and score trinkets for a quarter at the neighborhood lawn sales. Because, you see, in the last handful of weeks, we’ve been so lucky to collect these two new (totally frame-less) prints:
1) My Milk Toof, Into the Woods. Inhae’s art is too too cute, and it quickly flew to the top of my birthday wish list (thank you, schnooks!). I have a school girl crush on Ickle and Lardee, and if you don’t yet follow their adventures, you must start. They crack my shizz up. Scott’s (shizz), too.
2) Sharon Montrose, Piglet No. 2. Before the days of Pinterest, I had emailed myself a link to Sharon’s site, reminding myself to pick my favorite print and purchase. Her open editions of 8x10s make my heart sing, but I was pinching my pennies for the next size up. And then, an amazing thing happened. Through the magic of a click-happy mouse (oh, how I love you, sweet world wide web!), I stumbled upon her work on 20×200. And then Living Social offered up a daily deal. My non-existent pennies (because, really, I didn’t get very far) snagged an 11×14 piglet for the price of an 8×10.
I’m a big, fat sucker for animals and all things cute (including, but not limited to, milk toofs). And so, in turn, goes my mind from prints to fleas to tropical, fruity drinks. Too many hats, I tell you. But! We’re teetering on the edge of a weekend start, and we want to wish a happy, happy Friday to you all! What are your plans?
