Marcia,

Wow, thank you so much for the honest feedback! I have to say that I have little to no experience in a kitchen remodel (although we're going to tackle our own this Spring/Summer), and your dishwasher suggestions are great. These are things I would not have thought of, but if this was a real-life layout, your suggestions would make all the difference!

I love your furniture choices. The mix of colors and textures is really fun. The kitchen would have to be reworked some though. Just tweaked really. The frig would probably need some filler between it and the wall for the door to open fully and the drawers to pull out. Maybe a 4" wide ikea broom closet pullout between the frig and the wall. The DW as drawn would open into the back of the cook's legs making this a one butt kitchen. I'd make the island a little wider maybe 15" more, flipping the DW to the other side of the sink and placing a trash pullout on the other side of the sink. The trash pullout would serve both the cleanup zone and the prep/cooking zone. Overall I think you did a really nice job.

Kasey, go for that Nate Berkus sofa! I've been drooling over it for so long, and I've noticed that many of the colors are close to selling out - if they haven't already.

Too bad we just don't have the room, no matter how hard I try.
