…we got hitched! In what I consider the best day of my life, Scott and I got married in what turned out to be a very tearful ceremony. And when I say tearful, I mean that Scott cried. Like a baby. Okay, so did I. The point is, I wed my very best friend, my partner in crime, my confidante. And as our married life turns one year old today, we’re celebrating by heading out of town and spending one fabulous week long trip to Nashville. With no plans and only two tickets to the Grand Ole Opry, we figure we’ll wing it and just enjoy each other’s company. Hey, I mean, we’re stuck with each other for life, right? Love you, honey.
And since we’ll be spending our moolah on who-knows-what-the-city-will-bring, we decided to completely nix any gifts to each other. Hmmm. They say year one is paper, so I couldn’t let something so simple get nixed that easily. Since I wasn’t allowed to buy my hubs – a card? a photo? a pad of paper? – I created some custom labels for a few bottles of champagne that we smuggled onto the road (gifts from thoughtful wedding guests). I was able to incorporate the paper theme, while prettying up a gift that we already planned on enjoying together.

While we’re out on the town, we’ve got a few posts lined up to keep your eyes entertained, but we’ll be back next week to dish the dirty details on all things Nashville, including our first official introduction to you, our lovely YBH readers (are you ready for these mugs?). ‘Til then, you may find us munching on our year old wedding cupcakes and getting a little tipsy on the bubbly.
